not gone, but forgotten.
March.5.09in the past couple of days i’ve accidentally stumbled across a bunch of late 80’s/early 90’s music that i’d forgotten about. does that ever happen to you? here’s what i’ve “discovered” this week:
- counting crows – recovering the satellites. remember how bad ass this record was/is? no? listen to it again.
- u2 – joshua tree. how i keep forgetting this record is a mystery.
- stone temple pilots – purple. actually, most of their records are way better than they get credit for.
what are the bands, records or songs that you forget about, but then always turn up when you hear them, or that send you back to the stack of old cds?

YES. RTS is my favorite CC album. I just posted “Goodnight, Elizabeth” on my blog (*ahem* http://www.hollywynne.com) yesterday, in fact. The title track is, possibly, my favorite CC song ever. “We’re such crazy babies, little monkey–we’re so f*cked up, you and me…” That = love.
And, well, Joshua Tree–I mean…it’s Joshua Tree.
Honestly? Every once in a while, I have to pop in Coldplay’s Rush of Blood or some old school DMB. And Kings of Leon’s Aha Shake Heartbreak.
Great post–will be revisiting the neglected tracks on the iPod soon.
I just left a rhapsodizing, effusive comment that got eaten. Rawr, but I’ll leave it now at great post, and I’m gonna listen to these albums soon.
P.S. I posted “Goodnight, Elisabeth” on my blog just yesterday.
P.P.S. Speaking of my blog, please change it on your blogroll and resubscribe to it, if’n you wanna. http://www.hollywynne.com.
yes, ma’am.
oh, i found your comment. got stuck in spam somehow. my apologies.
Along with Counting Crows, I always enjoyed the heck out of Gin Blossoms. I forget about them way too often.
