the cat, the bag, and the last book in the bible

January.9.08

as i sit here in the post-bladerunner glow, listening to the national, there’s a calm in the house. bwe’s giving benny the foster dog a bath before he leaves us tomorrow (to go to a real foster home with agape animal rescue while they place him). the other dogs are knocked out, probably on the couch. i can just barely hear the tv downstairs. i have the tired smile of a man who spent his lunch hour hammering out ten miles around brentwood in a scant 40 minutes.

it’s a good nite. it’s been a good week. i have a feeling of sunshine and hopefulness that i don’t recall having for a little over a year, roughly the same time that i moved into my current position at work. i’m pretty sure that there’s one major reason for this, and it relates to the title of this here post, and is the not so well kept supertopsecretspecial project:

the cat is out of the bag, and i’m about to share a revelation (of sorts).

i’m buying my own business!! yup, as of january 31st i will be leaving the land of the cubicle to start a business of my own. i’m actually buying someone else’s business, but it’s gonna be mine. and the bank’s. actually, mostly the bank’s. still, i’m the one they gave the money to, so it’s mine, right?

i will have a signed agreement within the next 2-3 days, at which point i will tell you what the business is, where it is, and ask, nay PLEAD, that you come be one of my patrons.

well, that’s done. who wants coffee?
