i promise i’m trying to keep the cobwebs off this here blog. thing is, i’m focused on the crag’s website, on twitter marketing, and on umpteen other things at the moment. BUT, i have 12 minutes until a software vendor calls me for a demo, and its friday, so…its truffle shuffle time!
the week’s been epic, in a good way. business is pretty good, life is pretty good, and i’m even thinking i can get back on the bike a couple of days a week. as you can see from yesterday’s posts, i’ve been in a musical mood (not musical like south pacific, musical like enjoying music) this week as well.
good weekends to all…hope to see you at the crag soon!
1. the race is on again – yo la tengo (i’m not afraid of you and i will beat your ass). love it.
2. you’re missing – springsteen (the rising). well, she HAS been out of town since wednesday…
3. life itself – springsteen (working on a dream). apparently we’re gonna have a springsteen thing this week. and that’s different, how exactly?
4. shakedown on 9th street – ryan adams & the cardinals (ryman auditorium 8.1.06). one of bwe’s favorite songs, from one of my favorite shows. sweet.
5. i for an i – derek webb (the ringing bell) “an i for an i never satisfies…”
6. how we operate – gomez (how we operate). another band that i somehow forget about until they pop up randomly. “turn me inside out & upside down, try to see things my way…”
7. brain of j – pearl jam (yield). a clever song from an underappreciated record. “the whole world will be different soon…the whole world will be relieved”
8. trophy wife – the national (sad songs for dirty lovers). just got this ep, and haven’t heard the song before. sorta sounds like the national meets pete yorn. speaking of pete yorn, i hear he has a record coming out…
9. surprise, surprise – springsteen (working on a dream). no…don’t need any more surprises for a little while. unless it involves someone giving me a bunch of money to buy new flooring for the crag.
10. when i was a young girl – feist (let it die). were this a song by siouxse & the banshees, it would be much, much scarier. still, pretty intense…
so, we started with a race and ended with the plague. umm…
